Wildflowers & Waterfalls – an Earth Day Hiking Adventure-Bays Mountain Park
April 23
Ready for a lovely springtime HIKING ADVENTURE? Celebrate the day after Earth day as we hike up into nearby Bays Mountain Park from Laurel Run Park. This will be a great chance to discover the amazing diversity of our earth’s wildflowers and native trees. It will also be a chance to view two small but dramatic waterfalls.
Please note that this is a challenging 4+ mile hike. Participants must be prepared for unbridged creek crossings, some very muddy trails, a few steep climbs, and the possibility of stinging nettles, black bears and venomous snakes. Wear long pants and sturdy hiking footwear. Bring rain-gear and snacks.
We’ll meet at the big parking lot uphill from the Warriors’ Path headquarters (the former pool parking lot), departing PROMPTLY at 1:00 PM to drive to the trailhead. It’s about a half hour drive to the trailhead.
Note that you must preregister if you wish to participate.
